Testing for Compulsory Registration Scheme
The Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) is a government program that requires certain products to be registered before they can be legally sold or distributed in a particular country or jurisdiction. The purpose of the CRS is to ensure that products meet specific safety, quality, and performance standards, protecting consumers from potential risks or hazards.

Testing for Compulsory Registration Scheme
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued the "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" on October 3, 2012, and various Electrical / Electronic goods have been mandated for CRS based on their compliance with Indian Safety Standards. The Scheme was also later invoked by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) through the Solar Photovoltaics, Systems, Devices, and Components Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2017 and its succeeding versions.
On September 5, 2017, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) notified five items under the Solar Photovoltaics, Systems, Devices, and Components Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2017.
No one shall produce or store for sale, import, sell, or distribute items that do not correspond to the Indian standard stipulated in the order and do not bear the Standard Mark with a unique registration number received from BIS, according to the Orders. A detailed list of items covered under CRS is available on the BIS website https://bis.gov.in.
Registration by BIS is granted to manufacturing units. Manufacturing product testing is critical for Manufacturer registration under the CRS program. Registration necessitates that the notified products meet the applicable Indian Standards. The Scheme requires that product testing be performed exclusively at BIS-approved testing laboratories. Requests for testing must be submitted through a unified portal by selecting a preferred lab. The labs instantly upload test reports to the portal for timely choices at BIS. In order to begin testing under CRS, applicants must first register on the portal.
It's important to note that the specific details and procedures can vary depending on the country or region where the CRS is implemented. Therefore, it's advisable to consult the relevant regulatory authorities or seek professional assistance to ensure compliance with the specific requirements of the compulsory registration scheme you are dealing with.
House of Testing Lab being NABL Accredited and BIS Recognized, provide a wide range of scope for testing of products as per different Indian Standards mandated under CRS.
